COURSE
DESCRIPTION
This course explores drama as an Art-form expressing the social functions of the Theater, from its earliest appearance to the present.
GOALS
This is a required course for the BA degree program in Theater Arts. The students learn about World Theater and the historical patterns of drama that have been developed throughout the ages,.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon course completion, students will be able to:
Explore early Greek and Roman theater with an emphasis on playwrights, Actors, directors, scenic Artists and Producers.
Define new practices in the modern Theater.
Show how ‘Renaissance Theater’ influenced civilization.
Explore Elizabethan stage conventions and modern interpretations.
COURSE PREREQUISITE: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for admission to this course of study.
COURSE DELIVERY: This course shall be delivered completely through online interaction via the Internet or other acceptable distance learning medium(s). Due to this being a non-traditional program, traditional classroom residency is not required. Therefore, you are expected to independently read and analyze the subject matter with me performing the roles of an advisor and mentor.
