COURSE
DESCRIPTION
This course explores practical and historical methods of cutting and constructing costumes for stage and film.
GOALS
This is a required course for the BA degree program in Theater Arts. The students learn how to draft, prepare and manipulate patterns in order to shape, fit and construct appropriate and versatile costumes.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon course completion, students will be able to:
Define methods and styles of costume design.
Solve problems with costumes design and construction.
Shape, fit and manipulate costumes to meet the versatile needs of humans on stage.
Investigate and compare historical to contemporary methods of design.
COURSE PREREQUISITE: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for admission to this course of study.
COURSE DELIVERY: This course shall be delivered completely through online interaction via the Internet or other acceptable distance learning medium(s). Due to this being a non-traditional program, traditional classroom residency is not required. Therefore, you are expected to independently read and analyze the subject matter with me performing the roles of an advisor and mentor.
