COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course provides an exploration of the different methods of Stage construction and set decoration. It includes the preparation of lighting and sound plots, and props.

GOALS

This is a required course for the BA degree program in Theater Arts. The students gain knowledge in building sets based on the requirements of the play. They learn to decorate the sets, prepare control boards for lighting and sound, and provide all the props needed for the success of the play.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon course completion, students will be able to:

Construct desired sets.

Decorate the sets to present stage reality.

Prepare lighting and sound plots, and effectively use the control boards.

Prepare props and Technical script.

 

COURSE PREREQUISITE: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for admission to this course of study. 

COURSE DELIVERY: This course shall be delivered completely through online interaction via the Internet or other acceptable distance learning medium(s). Due to this being a non-traditional program, traditional classroom residency is not required. Therefore, you are expected to independently read and analyze the subject matter with me performing the roles of an advisor and mentor.
