COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course prepares students to become professional actors of the stage, television and screen. It heightens their performance skills by expanding their knowledge in the areas of some study, textual analyses and character exploration.

GOALS
This is a required course for the MA degree program in Theater Arts. The students gain in-depth knowledge in Professional Theater and Performance Skills necessary for all professional Actors and they expand their knowledge of memory of emotion, scene study, observation, role playing and characterization.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon course completion, students will be able to:

Play and interpret a role at a professional level.

Develop any character for any period, at the professional level.

Make use of scene study, movement and characterization to deliver a role at the professional level.

Analyze script and scenery for character exploration, using scenic design, costume and music to enhance character development

 

COURSE PREREQUISITE: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for admission to this course of study. 

COURSE DELIVERY: This course shall be delivered completely through online interaction via the Internet or other acceptable distance learning medium(s). Due to this being a non-traditional program, traditional classroom residency is not required. Therefore, you are expected to independently read and analyze the subject matter with me performing the roles of an advisor and mentor.
