GRADUATION
COMMITTEE
The
Graduation Committee carries a responsibility to:
1)
Review and approve the student's final project which includes the thesis,
dissertation or portfolio of competence.
2)
Recommend to the University acceptance of the final project and awarding of the
degree.
GRADUATION
REQUIREMENTS
To graduate, a student must successfully complete the core courses
required for the degree he/she is seeking, complete the minimum required number
of units, meet all financial obligations and be recommended for graduation.
A
candidate for graduation must file an Intent to Graduate form at least
eight (8) weeks prior to graduation.
THESIS,
DISSERTATION OR PORTFOLIO OF COMPETENCE
All candidates for graduate degrees (except Master of Business
Administration) will complete a final project and submit a thesis, dissertation
or an equivalent portfolio option, (i.e., completed publication, career project,
credential/license equivalent to the degree being sought) which is acceptable to
the University.
TUITION
AND FEES
Tuition is a single fee which includes counseling, services of faculty and
staff preparing and issuing degrees and follow‑up services. The total
tuition depends on the degree or combination of degrees desired.
The types and amount of tuition and fees are established by the University Board of Trustees. The Board reserves the right to make changes without advance notice whenever conditions require. See the enclosed fee and tuition schedule.
TUITION
FOR COMBINED PROGRAMS
In cases where learners qualify for a Bachelor's or Master's Completion
Program it is sometimes possible to earn the next higher degree in a single
program completed at one time. This requires that the learner have the requisite
number of transcripted units and enough transcripted and/or career experience
credit to equal the total number of units required for the lower degree (i.e.
equivalency to the lower degree).
TUITION
FOR INTERNATIONAL LEARNERS
Although based on the same criteria as those for United States citizens and residents, tuition and fees for learners from foreign countries may differ. The tuition is a single fee which may reflect the economic level of the country. However, the learner may incur other costs for services such as individual tutoring and translation of thesis and dissertation. A tuition and fee schedule for international learners is available at the Honolulu University Affiliates in your country or may be obtained from your Admissions Counselor or Faculty Advisor.
OTHER
COSTS
Learners typically employ a variety of learning resources such as graduate courses at other colleges and universities, computer library searches, professional training, individual learning, consultants and seminars. The cost of these additional learning resources is the responsibility of the learner and will vary according to past experience and the nature of study. Learners should also be prepared to meet other costs incidental to their program such as books and study materials.
The University has a refund policy to assist learners who have officially
withdrawn from the program. The schedule of tuition refunds, except costs of
instructional materials and registration fees, is determined according to the
following schedule:

CANCELLATION
OF CONTRACT OR ENROLLMENT

of Admission and Records of the intention in writing. Such notice is effective
from its date of mailing (as postmarked on the envelope).
REFUNDS
The
University will make refunds within 30 days of the cancellation.
FINANCIAL
OBLIGATIONS
Learners who have financial obligations incurred at the University and who fail to satisfactorily meet these obligations will be dropped from the University and considered "Withdrawn Not in Good Standing". Re-admission to the University will not be considered until these obligations are met, at which time learners will be subject to the readmission requirements for withdrawn learners.
TRANSCRIPTS
All financial obligations to the University must be met before any diploma, certificate, Examining Board verification letter, or transcript of credit will be issued.

academic records are maintained for five years.
